23 Jun The Epibioscale Days: two days dedicated to biotechnology projects
On June 3rd and 4th, 2025, Ennolys had the honor of organizing the first edition of the Epibioscale Days in Biarritz—a unique professional event dedicated to industrialization and scaling up biotechnology projects.
Together with Itak Strategies, ATV Technologies, and ESCOM, we designed this event as a catalyst for B2B exchange. Hosted in the exceptional setting of the Bellevue Convention Center in Biarritz, participants enjoyed two days of conferences, experience sharing, and networking focused on biotechnology.
This human-scale event brought together nearly 70 experts, industry players, project leaders, and partners from across Europe, in a professional yet friendly atmosphere.

A rich program combining technical expertise and real-world experience
The common thread running through the event? How to successfully scale up a biotechnology process—from the lab to industrial production.
The agenda featured a series of in-depth presentations by renowned speakers across various fields, including R&D, scale-up, downstream processing, regulations, innovation financing, and engineering.
Key highlights included:
- Real-world feedback on successful industrialization cases,
- Discussions around the challenges of large-scale fermentation and downstream processing (DSP),
- Focus sessions on artificial intelligence, managing collaborative projects, and best practices to de-risk the scale-up phase.
Each session provided attendees with valuable insights and optimization strategies, highlighting both the complexity and the vast potential of industrial biotechnology projects.

A B2B format promoting networking and collaboration
One of the key strengths of the Epibioscale Days was its intentionally intimate format, which fostered high-quality interactions. Far from large, impersonal trade shows, this event allowed participants to build lasting connections, engage in meaningful discussions about technical or strategic challenges, and explore potential collaborations.
Informal moments—coffee breaks with an ocean view, convivial lunches, and a networking cocktail—further strengthened this dynamic of closeness, all in a spirit of openness and co-creation.

An exclusive tour of the Ennolys production site
To round off the first day, participants were invited to visit Ennolys’s plant in Soustons, in the heart of the Landes region. This was a unique opportunity to discover our fermentation and purification infrastructure, and to better understand how we support our partners in scaling up their processes.
This hands-on experience gave real-world context to the day’s discussions and showcased Ennolys’s ability to meet a wide variety of industrial fermentation needs.
What’s next? Stay tuned…
To conclude the two-day event, a satisfaction survey was shared with participants. We’re pleased to report that 97.5% of respondents felt the event met their expectations. The feedback received was also very encouraging, with comments highlighting the quality of the discussions, the relevance of the topics covered, and the overall organization. These positive responses motivate us to keep fostering this collaborative momentum, while continuing to improve.
So, when’s the next edition?
